My Dad's sister, whom we lost to Leukemia
14 years ago this June.
We miss you, Aunt Ann.

Ben and his Baba made "one thousand pancakes."  Aren't they cute?

Close-up on the pancakes...

Laura - Part II

This is the before and after shot of the former kitchen turned into master bath, and "office" turned new kitchen. We divided the old kitchen (which was way too small) in half, made half a master bath, and half a mudroom/laundry room. The laundry room is functional but not finished yet. Then we moved the kitchen into a room we didn't quite know what to do with. It was the perfect move!

It is so therapeutic to see how far we've come!

I mentioned that we're rehabing a historic house, right? Its been about two years since we took possession and we're still working at it. We're ALMOST done...almost. I just need another two weeks of Daddy time in the house and this shit will be almost over!

Just for fun: Before and after shots of the living room mantle that I SLAVED over and refinished. I guess the finished walls in the living room and the lack of dust and debris help out the look too! I'll post a few more before and after shots of other rooms I worked on later.

Luke about to go in for his 2nd procedure. He had to get the stitches out.

My new honey, a Sony Cybershot DSC.  Makes me want an even nicer camera.  I'm thinking Canon or Nikon...  Did I ever mention I'm a technophile?

Ahh, Dallas... back in my old stomping grounds.  Makes me remember why I left, but I'm working hard and having fun so far.

Mini me of Daddy has started his love for Home Depot. He is SO happy there. You can't teach that kind of love. Its born within. Kate & I on the other hand.. we hate that place! Ha!

I'm experimenting with a garden this year! So excited! These little babies are cucumbers. I've got peppers of all kinds, dill, tomatoes, watermelons, strawberries, pumpkins, and cantaloupe. Since I've no job for the summer (yet) I'm working on finishing up some stuff on the house and growing and canning food! Oh yeah...and writing and researching. Blue pumpkins and pickling cucumbers are more fun though!
