1/365 From Becca / Cori depending :)

Did not have the best New Year's Eve that I have had in a long time. I spent it in the hospital because I had a 7+ mm kidney stone that would not pass.

I ended up having surgery to remove it the next morning. I talked my way into getting to come home today. I am on lots of drugs and got the bonus gift of a stent that gets removed Monday.

Here is a picture of my bloody IV that the ER nurse put in. I think someone needs some practice.

My New Year's Resolution...

Kyla, 25

It seems I'm a little late for this party, which is probably the most appropriate manner of introducing myself! I'm always slightly late to the party.

I am 25 years old and have been married for 7 years (yes, you did the math correctly, I was 17). I have two children BubTar, 6 years old, and KayTar, 3 years old. BubTar and KayTar are not their given names (though, you never can tell these days), but rather pseudonyms that were given to protect their anonymity on my personal blog. KayTar has a variety of medical and developmental needs and certainly keeps me on my toes. In fact, if I'm late to a party, she's usually behind it. Once we discovered that all was not as it should have been for her, I became a stay at home mom to facilitate her smorgasbord of doctor's appointments and therapy sessions. It was a turn I never expected to take, but I'm thankful for it in retrospect. Through her various issues, I discovered my love of medicine and I am currently back in school pursuing a nursing degree. I am also a part time advocate for children's healthcare rights; KayTar was the catalyst for that as well.

While my own blog gives me ample opportunity to hone my writing skills, I look forward to opportunities this blog will afford me to sharpen my photograph skills. I'm thrilled to be a part of it.
