I rewarded myself for getting through my doctor's appointment by going to an optometrist's appointment.  New glasses here I come!

Kyla 29/365

Saturday, on the way into KayTar's art classes (for special kiddos), she fell several times in the parking lot. Excitement + Poor Balance = Falling. The last time she fell, it happened as I was mid-step and my foot came down right on her little pointer finger and basically ground it into the pavement. I felt horrible! We came into the building with KayTar howling and bleeding, it was a mess. I patched her up and calmed her down and she was happy by the time I left. This is what her poor finger looks like today. I still feel horrible!

"The sun came up today and it burned my blues away" -- Mojave 3

Kyla 28/365

The book I'm reading.

Tonight I was lying in bed with KayTar and she was peering over my shoulder, reading parts of it aloud to me.

Mary 27/365

I was at work yesterday and I banged my arm a few times.  This is the worst of my bruises, but there are a few on the other side too.  Apparently my anemia is acting up again, and I've yet to find iron that doesn't make me sick.

I'm especially thankful I'm not in this guy's situation on days like today.
The weather has been brutal all day, and will only get worse tonight.

Kyla 27/365

Bears with asthma are pretty cute, no?
Yesterday food allergies, today asthma. Never a dull moment!

You gotta teach them young :)

They say the eyes are a window into the soul.
Looking at your own soul is a little unsettling at first.

Awesome...

This pic totally shows Kate's personality

A picture from the fog this morning; this is so characteristic of Texas winters.  I thought this one came out well, though.

Kyla 26/365

This is what I woke up to this morning.
KayTar said, "Look at me, Mom. My tongue is hurting."
I was shocked when I looked at her, I was expecting a sore throat, not this.
It was not the best way to start the day, that's for sure.
A double dose of Bendryl stopped the progression, thankfully.
Today we are watchfully waiting, hoping to never have cause to use the epi-pens.

I ordered new pants online, and they came in WAY too long.  When I put on flats, I ended up walking on the lower inch and a half.  This isn't something I'm used to
-- I'm just about 6' tall!  I've got some sewing to do.

Elyssa, 25/365

My goofball but I love her.

I have been in a funk. Forgive me please. Its been hard to get back on track since the surgery and now Luke has croup.

Here is the bday cake from last year for the kids. They are 2 years and 1 week apart. We had a Prince and Princess theme last year. I think this year we will do Wall-E.

Thankfully I have a AWESOME BIL that is a pastery chef. My kids don't know how good they have it!

Kyla 25/365

We're in the paper again today! They made a little mistake, though, I have a SON and a daughter, but shhh, we just won't tell BubTar.

Progress!

Kyla 24/365

I've spent the day studying special education laws. The school wants to pull KayTar from her classroom environment due to her (legitimate, health-related) absences, and I believe her needs are best met in a classroom environment surrounded with peers, routine, and experiences she cannot have here at home. I hope it can be amicably resolved, but if not, I plan to be ready for it.

Ben had his first trip to a petting zoo recently.  He's so fantastically adorable that the local paper had to put him and his parents in their article.  Can't say I blame them there.

Phyllis 23/365

The sunrise this morning was breathtaking.  This picture doesn't even do it justice (it's more profound seeing the larger photos).  I took nearly 40, within a few minutes time, so it was hard to pick the solitary photo that captured its radiance best.  Hope this gives everyone an idea.

My son trying out his inline skates at the rink for the first time. Took him a bit to get used to the smooth surface instead of the bumpy sidewalk.

Holy High Bedness!!!

I got new bedding and the bedskirt was too long, so I bought bedrisers for it. Love it, but uh...the munchkin needs a chair to get up! Funny story....last night asleep all by my lonesome w/ hubby out of town, one bed leg broke through the riser, causing that corner to fall 8 inches and brought me crashing out of dreamland. Apparently I had a dud set. I was so tired I just wiggled over to my husband's side and went back to sleep. Hopefully tonight is a little less bumpy, lol.

I love my Chucks, and shoes in general. They fit even when your
clothes don't!

I reconnected with my old cousin today on Facebook, after 25 years.
Life is strange and amazing.

Mary 22/365

We said goodbye to one of our managers, and I saw an opportunity to send him out in style.  I had to travel to three different stores to find the old school army soldiers, and then we coated his desk with them.  When we were done, they were in his cabinets, on his keyboard, and all across
his desk.

Mark's reaction was priceless.  Unfortunately, he decided to retaliate.  Poor little fella.

*I'm sorry I've been mia, lots on my plate right now, I'll try and be better*
My daughter today, I had to check out my new light and borrowed softbox for tomorrows newborn shoot:)

I probably haven't mentioned that I share my apartment with a cat, have I?  She came as a non-negotiable with the boyfriend, so we frostily endure each other's presence in OUR apartment.  There's a time every night that I call the witching hour, when she runs around the apartment like mad and attacks everything she sees.  I guess she's pretty cute.  :)

Elyssa, 21/365

This is the beauty that kept me company while I was in AZ. She was
Cayenne's (my dog) best bud when we lived here. I'm now back home with
my love pup! :-)

Phyllis 21/365

A science experiment my son & I picked up at Michael's last week.  You just add water, and watch them grow "hair", kind of like a modern-day Chia pet.  I will post another pic when they're full head of hair comes in.  This is just five days growth - he was thrilled at their progress today, so I had to share.

Kyla 21/365

These are KayTar's belly buttons. As you can see, she is doubly gifted. One button fed her while she grew in my womb and the other feeds her as she grows in the world. We think both are pretty special.

A very cool dude we met at the zoo. I think it's a "dude" anyway...

Did you guys know Austin had a male strip club?
Apparently, no one else did either.  It's closing down.

Elyssa, 20/365

My mode of transport in AZ. I love this thing.

This was the scene outside my front door this morning! SNOW!! And over the last five or six hours, about 3 more inches of it!

The university decided to cancel all classes, which meant I got a SNOW DAY too! I feel five years old again!

Our President.

Today I am very proud of our nation.

Mary 20/365

School starts today, so I'm getting an early start on my blogging.  You can see just why in this picture.  :)  Every semester, I make a template schedule for work & school.  This helps me get an idea of when I can study and how much of a life I can really have.  It is also good for my forgetful boyfriend, who will honestly ask me every day when I'll be home, all the way until May.

This is my family's dog, Buddy. He was a 12th birthday gift for my little brother who is now nearly 24. Sweet Buddy is in his last days (literally) so I took a bunch of pictures of him today while we were at my parents house.

He limped and coughed around the backyard - chewing on sticks, balancing treats on his nose, tail constantly wagging. He's easily the gentlest, kindest dog I've known. It's going to be hard to say goodbye to this old guy.

Phyllis 19/365

A drip that froze mid-air in one of the ice trays at work today.

Mary 19/365

I spent Sunday trying out some new recipes and now I have far too many sweets in my house.  Clint's claimed the bread pudding.  Anyone want some cupcakes?

Sheree 18/365

Sorry guys...I haven't picked up my camera in a few days. I need to get motivated again!

Forgive me.

In the meantine, enjoy a picture of my precious girl checking out her new threads.

Phyllis 18/365

We took one of our Sunday road-trips today, ended up in Lincoln, TX, population 276.  Ate at a local cafe, drove around wide open spaces, and enjoyed the gorgeous day.  I must say, the best part was when Aaron broke out into "Tiiiiiiiiiin roof, rusted." from "Loveshack" after seeing several tin-roofed houses.  Then, ironically, the song came on the radio within an hour afterward.  Good times.

Elyssa, 18/365

Did my first half marathon today. Sweet victory!

Laura, 18/365

My Life as Measured in Cups of Coffee: Today is a triple refill kind of day. My days can be divided among three or four categories: single, double, triple, or intravenous. I don't drink lattes or mochas; just coffee, and straight up. I don't know how many single days I have anymore (who can drink just one lonely cup?!), but the majority are in the double range. Thesis writing and final exam/paper periods are intravenous days. If the world were suddenly devoid of the wonderful little beans, my world would be a sad, sad place.

Mary 18/365

I guess I'm feeling nostalgic today.  This is a picture from the golden age at work, just over a year ago.  Only two people in this picture still work with me.  The token male is Kevin, my former boss.  I miss him most.

Kyla 18/365

My sick little guy, eating his breakfast this morning. I can always tell when he is about to get sick just by looking at those big blue eyes of his.
