5/365 Cori or Becca

I got the stent taken out today from my surgery that I had on the 1st. They told me that I would have some cramping and kidney spazzing. I had more pain then I have had the entire time I have been sick. My husband called the Dr to see what we should do. He thinks that I still have kidney stone fragments that are trying to pass. My stone was 6 to 7 MM. That is a large stone! I normally take my pain killer every 6 hrs. I can take up to two at a time. I am now currently taking them every 2 hours to stay on top of the pain. I go for a CT tomorrow.

He was doing it again today.  Our male cat loves to sit on the back of the sofa & watch the fire going in the fireplace.  I have several photos of him doing this, and got to add another one to my collection this afternoon.

Angel

This is my husband, Steve, and our son, Ian. And in case you didn't notice, our dog, Duke. The quality of the photo isn't great because it is pre-good camera. But it's the shot that counts. That position lasted for roughly 1/4 of a Star Wars movie. Now that is impressive! My husband the saint...

Troye

Ok, so I'm a little late to the party. But I'm sure you'd understand if you'd been around the last week, as we kicked off the New Year with every single in-law I have. There was no way I was posting to any blog w/ my MIL reading over my shoulder pretending to try to figure out how to use the internet. My name is Troye, yes, just like the guy's name except Mom got even more fancy with it and added the silent e on the end. I am an Indiana native, but a Texan at heart. We moved to the Dallas area when I was a freshman in high school. Now I'm raising my own family in the same town. Although, if I thought I could get my parents to move with us, I'd put up a really good fight to move to Austin. I have been married for 15 years to my husband Bill. We have 3 kiddos. Allie, 12, who is my athlete and challenge (but what 12 yr old isn't). Austin, who is my little ladies man and future architect, is 8. And then there is Gabrielle, 4. She is the reason for the increasing number of gray hairs I find now, but the source of so many laughs daily. I will be beginning my photography business very soon, and am looking very forward to that. Can't wait to get to know those of you I don't know yet, and to see more of those of you that I do know! Oh, and I have almost NO photos of me. So here is one of me from last spring w/ my youngest, hanging out at my usual weekend place...the softball field watching my oldest.

I'm trying to eat well and be more health conscious, so of course I've started having junk food cravings.  Since it's cold outside, nothing sounds better than Frito Chili Pie.  Grr...  So far I'm still fighting it.

I experienced my first time in the snow a couple days ago. Loved it! This is me making my first ever snow angel :).

A new year, a new week, a new planner. Ahhhhh, that's nice.

Just got back from a very long vacation and still recovering from logging in over 56 travelling hours. After a good night's sleep, I wanted to create my first post. I missed the part of the instructions that said to introduce myself, with a photo. After reading through all of the blogs, I decided to edit my first post. I guess you could say that is appropriate - editing, that is. I'm a graduate student, and I've discovered the art of writing is all in the editing. The first draft is always crap. The first draft is also always the hardest to get out of your head and onto paper. Its kind of a metaphor for life.

I live in Durham, North Carolina with my husband Michael and two crazy dogs. We are renovating a historic home (read: big mess). Whenever the house renovation gets me down, I think about how many people don't have homes, and I begin to appreciate the fun-house floors, the termites in the newly renovated kitchen, and the broken furnace. Just a few more challenges to tackle in 2009!
