We had a really chilly day yesterday...much colder than what we normaly experience. This was Gabs after we got home from our starbucks run all toasty and warm.

A new year, a new week, a new planner. Ahhhhh, that's nice.

Laura, 31

Just got back from a very long vacation and still recovering from logging in over 56 travelling hours. After a good night's sleep, I wanted to create my first post. I missed the part of the instructions that said to introduce myself, with a photo. After reading through all of the blogs, I decided to edit my first post. I guess you could say that is appropriate - editing, that is. I'm a graduate student, and I've discovered the art of writing is all in the editing. The first draft is always crap. The first draft is also always the hardest to get out of your head and onto paper. Its kind of a metaphor for life.

I live in Durham, North Carolina with my husband Michael and two crazy dogs. We are renovating a historic home (read: big mess). Whenever the house renovation gets me down, I think about how many people don't have homes, and I begin to appreciate the fun-house floors, the termites in the newly renovated kitchen, and the broken furnace. Just a few more challenges to tackle in 2009!

4/365 Cori or Becca depending

This is to keep my oldest motivated. She thrives off of charts like this!

She really wanted the Wall-E game for her leapster. We keep the game out to keep reminding her why she is working so hard :) Once she fills the chart for the whole week, she will get her game. Plus she will be proud of herself for earning it, not just getting it.

My fever got up to 103 last night. I called the Dr and he told me to stick it out. He was pretty sure it was because of the stent. I have never been this ill. I actually wanted to be at the hospital.

My Mom took my oldest, so that helped a ton. My husband has been doing everything. I am so worthless. Thankfully the fever broke today. The pain pills are doing a number on me but I need them still.

It's just been one of those days with the kid.

I'm craving a new tattoo today.  I found this design in a book, and I think it's the one.

It's a nice design, but really I want it to look like this.  I love the idea that you can see the phoenix catching fire.
